MASH

For a long time, we were thinking about which steakhouse would be next on the agenda – on Wednesday, January the 27th it was time for the Danish steakhouse called MASH.

Reservation

The MASH has quite extensive capacities, but if you still want to be on the safe side – or if you have fallen for a table – you should reserve with a little advance notice.

By the way – just opposite is a multi-storey car park, which takes away the latent worry of a nearby parking lot.

Ambience

Already in the entrance area you can see at the “maturing cupboard” what it is all about – meat.

The MASH has a reception where we were greeted in a very friendly and courteous manner & then led from there to our table.

The interior is clear, modern and in spite of everything the MASH is equipped with enough cosy corners. There are bar areas where you can enjoy excellent drinks before or after the meal. In addition, there are some cosy Séparées for “wine feasts” in smaller circles.

The “Business card”

Very clean & beautiful toilets, a plus for the fact that here is the first door for the gentlemen intended – Emancipation Reverse…;-)

Main Service

The waiter responsible for our table was very friendly & extremely competent, we felt quickly & well served, as well as openly & honestly advised.

Side Service

Unfortunately, the waiters have simply forgotten many orders, which the head of the Main Service has compensated to a large extent again – from our point of view, even more training and coordination is needed.

Minus

Unfortunately, some side dishes were served by the Side Service only after repeated requests – “naturally” a little too late to be eaten at the same time as the steaks.

Unfortunately, nobody “introduced” us to the different sauces, only the sauce béarnaise was mentioned by name – there is a need for optimisation.

The meat should have been considerably warmer when it arrived at our table – even the really well preheated plates could not compensate that issue.

In the evening of our visit the main dining room was unfortunately a quite noisy place.

Plus

The location and parking situation are optimal. The Main Service was a pleasure – the waiters were always courteous and in the MASH we could even try the exclusive and high-priced Kobe XO – carved by the waiter at the table.

You bring an exposed wine with you? No problem at the MASH, here the cosmopolitan Hamburg is lived, i.e. if your noble drop is not there, then the service takes over the opening, decanting and pouring – then you got only a little corkage on the bill.

From us, despite some minus points, a clear recommendation for a visit in the MASH.
